Spring Planning with Bunny Mellon

Collete+Roses+5x6+oil+on+linen.jpg

I must mention every January how much I look forward to Spring and that it my favorite time of the year. One of my favorite things to do around this time, is go through seed, plant, and even chicken catalogs to see what to plant in the Spring. I’m like a kid in a candy store- everything looks like it a seed, a plant, or a chicken that I need. I have to be careful though. Sometimes the cart gets full really fast. It’s how you plan to order 7 chicks, but end up with 15. The same happens with seed orders.

The roses were ordered earlier this year, because if I wait until January to order them, they are sold out of many favorites. I am not as particular about seeds, so they can wait until January. Although there are seeds from Floret that I wish I would have ordered earlier. No matter, just looking through the pages inspire me and give so much to be excited about.

Today, these two lovely Bunny Mellon books arrived and I cannot begin to say how much this will help in planning my garden. So it’s impossible for me to plan my garden with Bunny Mellon, but how lucky we are to have talented writers share her words and photos of her fabulous work that we may all use to guide our garden plans! I do hope it works out, but I am going into it with the understanding that a garden is a forever work-in-progress and that it will make for many glorious learning opportunities. I hope to share that journey with you as well.

I wish you all a wonderful week and hope that you have many things to look forward to this Spring as well.

Hugs,

Carolina
